Expanding Awareness about Genetic Risks for Breast Cancer

Women who inherit the BRCA gene mutation from one of their parents are at exponentially higher risk for breast and ovarian cancer. With early screening, preventative care, and an option for prophylactic surgery, many women can lower their chances of a lifechanging diagnosis. The first step, however, is informing women about the possibility of genetically inherited cancer risks.
